In an effort to tackle New Jersey’s affordable housing shortage, some state lawmakers are working to make accessory dwelling units (ADUs) easier to build. In particular, Senator Britnee Timberlake, a Democrat from East Orange, is co-sponsoring a bill (S1106) that would establish statewide standards for ADUs and require municipalities to allow accessory dwellings, with limited exceptions. — NJ Spotlight News
