Rents and home prices have risen dramatically across the country in recent years – but not in Minneapolis. From 2017 to 2022, the city’s average rents have grown by a mere 1%. This is because local leaders in Minneapolis have focused on growing the city’s housing supply, rather than enacting rent control or other ineffective housing policies.
