
Last year, Florida lawmakers passed the Live Local Act, a law that banned rent-control measures, eliminated local barriers to new construction, and provided incentives for builders to include workforce housing in otherwise market-rate projects. Housing advocates across the political spectrum have hailed the Live Local Act as a major success. But now, some lawmakers – spurred on by NIMBYs in local government – want to pass legislation to reverse some of the most effective provisions of the new law. –Tampa Bay Business Journal
