Colorado Governor Jared Polis proposed an $18.4 billion budget, including $136 million for initiatives meant to increase housing supply across the state. In particular, his proposal includes a $35 million incentive fund for transit-oriented development, $40 million in tax credits for affordable housing near transit, and $18 million for fees and costs related to building ADUs. In addition to these supply-side incentives, his budget would provide $30 million in funding for rental assistance. Apart from these funding proposals, the Governor is expected to introduce legislation early next year to streamline local approvals for residential development. – The Denver Post
