A Travis County judge ruled that the City of Austin violated state law when it enacted several zoning reforms last year. The ruling came down after local opponents of these reforms sued the city over a technicality, alleging that the city failed to properly notify affected property owners about the changes, as required by state law. The judge’s ruling voids three 2021 reforms that would have allowed developers to build taller, denser residential projects in certain areas, if their projects included units for low-income residents. – The Real Deal
